The full sequence, below...

Picture this:

You wake up on an isolated beach. Beguiling but strange — somewhere you’ve never been before.
No phone reception. No idea how you got here.
Worse — you’re on your own.

What do you do?

Now — be honest. If part of you just pictured a sunbaking snooze, a long stroll, a stunning sunset, and not a single deadline in sight... that’s not a genuine response. That’s a career woman’s holiday fantasy.

So again, what do you actually do? Have you got this? Or did your gut just do a backflip?

That question is the whole reason this weekend exists.

Stroll in cold. Stride out an accomplished huntress.

Imagine what that does for the tamer parts of your life.

COOK

In one adventurous weekend, you’ll:

  • Learn practical knot tying

  • Tie your own lure from what you find on the beach — yours to keep, whether it ever gets wet or not

  • Discover how to read Mother Nature’s cues

  • Learn ikejime — the same instant, humane dispatch method used by ethical anglers

  • Fillet, cure, coal-roast, and smoke your own catch — three methods, one weekend

  • Prove your progress: cast Friday, cast again Sunday, same course — undeniable before-and-after proof of learning, no assumptions

  • Sleep in a proper bed, in an ensuite cabin, every meal included — nobody roughs it unnecessarily ;)

Self-belief — real self-belief — isn’t something you talk yourself into at the mirror. Your subconscious doesn’t take orders from a pep talk — it demands evidence to alter baked-in beliefs. Demonstrated evidence: you do the thing, and afterward, you’ve got the knowledge that you did it. Not a feeling. Undeniable proof.

ABOUT YOUR COACH

I’ve had the privilege of representing my country in the Australian Ladies Fly Fishing Team.
I also hold the IGFA world record, ladies' 10kg line class, for barramundi — 29kg, 119cm.

I’m a serious businesswoman who just happens to be a bloody good angler.

I don’t do fitness camps here. No trust-fall team-building, no circles where you’re asked to share before you’re ready. What happens instead is both simpler and harder: you’re strolling into this with a genuine skills gap, and you’ll close it yourself, in the company of a small group of co-adventurers who’ll testify that you did.

Here’s what we’re actually doing.

You’ll learn to read water and land you’ve never set foot on before — the flats, the tide, when the wind’s about to turn, and what the low-tide sand can tell you to improve your fishing success before you even cast. Real fishing, taught the way a woman learns best — every technique you need for the situations you’ll face, using any kind of gear, including whatever you’ve already got in your tackle box, if you own one. And in keeping with our theme, you’ll make your own lure out of whatever you find around you.

You’ll learn to cast on Friday — test yourself against some targets — cast to conditions throughout your weekend —  cast at targets again before you depart (same course). Your improvement is yours to see for yourself.

Some sessions, you’re led. Others, the group decides based on the scenario you face, using the wisdom gained — your call, your consequences, your win.

The personal power you’ll uncover comes from reading a pattern, trusting your own instincts, and backing yourself in an environment that owes you nothing — base-level, staunch grit.

Self-reliance isn't self-reliance if it stops when things get real.

You’ll learn to hunt and kill a fish, properly and humanely — ikejime, the same instant dispatch method ethical fishers use. Clean it. Fillet it. Cure it, coal-roast it, smoke it, over a fire you helped build.

By Sunday, you’ll know something most people only ever claim to know.

That if you had to, you could actually look after yourself.

Not because you imagine you can.

Because you've proved it.

Small groups. Real skills. Real comfort waiting back at camp — because “outside your comfort zone” doesn’t mean you have to be uncomfortable.

You can’t un-know self-reliance. Once you’ve experienced it, it’s yours.
